The long wait is over. The most exciting event of the first semester, The TCC-FBCA-TBI Intramurals 2013 has come. After the bloody midterm examinations, here’s very good refreshment for the students. The setting of this year’s intramurals is different. FBCA was divided into four groups where there is an assigned leader in each. (Raven Gatchalian for the Purple Knights, Lawrence Domiquel for the Orange Thunders, Marc Castro for the Gray Wolves, and Chester Castillo for the Green Archers) The FBCA students were grouped not according to their year levels, like the usual, but they were grouped according to their team leaders. These four leaders were given a chance to choose their members, so to make the story short; the groups consist of students in different levels. While the TCC students were divided into three groups, which is unusual, because before, TCC work as one team. These three groups were: Blue Team (BSA students), Red Team (BSEd students), and Black Team (BSBA students). TBI students, like the usual, worked together as one group.

The intramurals was formally opened by the lighting of torch, followed by the opening prayer. Pastor Elmer Balcon shared a message related to sports. After the formalities, the first part of the event, Search for Mar and Ms. Intrams 2013 was started. Eight beautiful young ladies and eight handsome young men made their ways to get the crown, but in the end, the crown for Ms. Intrams 2013 was given to the Black Team’s representative and the Mr. Intrams’ crown was given to the Orange Team’s representative.

At exactly 1:00 pm, September 10, 2013, the sports began. Basketball, volleyball, Sepak Takraw, Table Tennis, Badminton, Track and Field, Chess, Word Factory and Scrabble were the games that the participants played. Everyone enjoyed the first day of the Intrams ’13.

Like what was announced, the games started at 8:00 in the morning last September 11, 2013. The second day was a lot more enjoyable for the others because different booths were opened. Well, not all the students were there to play; some were just there to watch. The third year students from FBCA   handled the wedding booth which, I think, is the most visited booth. The second year students operated the jail booth and the First year students were assigned for the dedication booth. The second day ended with mixed emotions. Some were happy and excited for the next day because they were in for the semi-finals and some feel the opposite because their teams were already eliminated in some games. But all in all, the second day of intramurals is fun and exciting.

September 13, 2013. Friday, before 8 o’clock in the morning, students of FBCA, TCC and TBI went to Tarlac Plazuela for the parade. Plazuela. Yes, you’ve got it right! Another unusual thing happened. Unusual, but good. The delegates of TCC-FBCA-TBI Intramurals 2013 marched from the Tarlac City Plazuela along F.Tañedo Street to Tarlac Christian College. After almost an hour of rest, the competition has started. The first team to perform is the Red Team, followed by the Blue Team, Green Team, then Orange Team, Gray Team, Black Team, Purple Team, and the last team who performed is the Yellow team. All the groups really prepared for this event. The cheering squads are all worth watching. But in the end, only one team stood out, which happened to be the Orange Team. After that, the students were advised to eat their lunch and then the games will start at exactly 1:00 pm. At exactly 1:00 pm, the battle for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in Track and Field started. After that, the final game for Basketball started. The game was between the Purple Knights and the Gray Wolves. Both teams are giving their best to cheer their teammates up. On the first and second quarter, the Gray Wolves scored more than the Purple Knights, but amazingly, the Purple Knights tied the score on the third quarter and they defeated the Gray Wolves at the end of the game. After all the calculations of the points each group had earned, the delegates were asked to gather in the preacher’s hall for the announcement of the winners. All the groups got champions in different games. The four teams that earned the highest points were: Blue Team (4th place), Purple Team (3rd place) , Yellow Team (2nd place) , and the TCC-FBCA-TBI Intramurals 2013 overall champion is none other than, the Gray Team.

In every competition, there will always be a winner and a loser. The thing is, you gave your best and you played your game for the sake of fellowship. A preacher once said, “Naglalaro tayo para manalo, hindi para hindi magpatalo.” To sum it all up, the event has been a great refreshment to those who joined and a very good time to strengthen the bonds of the TCC, FBCA and TBI students

September 12, 2013. At 8:00 am, students were already gathering at the back of the Building 1 for the day’s first event, Track and Field. The teams gathered their runners for 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash relay. After the running competition, the students proceeded to the preacher’s hall for the games. Semi-finals went fast. At the end of the third day, you can see the exhaustion of the students, but the excitement and happiness covered over it. In the evening, FBCA and TBI students practiced for their cheering for the next day. Everyone is excited for the parade and the cheering competition that will be held on the next day.
